The complete collection
Every moment of life he is changing to a degree the life of the whole world.
No individual is so insignificant as to be without influence.
The only responsibility that a man cannot evade in this life is the one he thinks of least,--his personal influence.
There are men and women whose presence seems to radiate sunshine, cheer and optimism.
To make our influence felt we must live our faith, we must practice what we believe.
Trifles unnoted by us may be links in the chain of some great purpose.
We should ever let our influence filter through human love and sympathy.
We should not be merely an influence,--we should be an inspiration.

You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
You shall seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.

For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
The time for renewed action was coming, and though our situation was grave enough, we were facing the future hopefully.
I, too, can work, and because I love to labor with my head and my hands, I am an optimist in spite of all.
My share in the work of the world may be limited; but the fact that it is work makes it precious.
Though my life is low, if my spirit looks upward habitually at an elevated angle, it is as it were redeemed.
The world is beautiful because they have lived; without them, labouring humanity would perish.
Such a young person persistently believes that behind all suffering, behind sin and want, must lie redeeming magnanimity.
I seemed to have nothing left to live for.
