A brief feeling such as “sad” or “overwhelmed” is enough. Please avoid names, contact details, medical histories, or other sensitive details in your search. The words you submit are sent to our server and, when semantic search is enabled, to a model provider, directly or through Vercel AI Gateway, as described below. You can also browse topics and collections without describing a feeling.

Searches started from the home page and search links can include the search words in the page URL. They may appear in browser history, hosting access logs, or a link you copy and share. Submitting a new search within the search page sends its text in a request body and does not add it to the URL. Avoid sharing a link that contains personal details.

• to deliver pages, match a feeling with encouraging quotes, search the catalogue, remember a requested display preference, and respond to requests;
• to verify submissions, attribution, provenance, and rights;
• to protect the service, prevent abuse, debug failures, and maintain reliable operations; and
• to meet legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Where the GDPR or similar law applies, these activities rely on performance of the service you request, legitimate interests in operating a secure and accurate catalogue, compliance with legal obligations, and—where specifically requested—consent. Quote suggestions are automated recommendations. We do not use search text for advertising, health diagnoses, or automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Information is disclosed only as needed to operate the service, including to:

• Vercel, for website hosting, content delivery, security, and request/runtime logs, and its AI Gateway when enabled to route search text to a model provider;
• our database hosting provider, for catalogue records, submissions, and rights requests;
• OpenAI or the model provider selected through Vercel AI Gateway, when semantic search is enabled, to convert search words and supportive search context into an embedding used to rank quotes;
• our email provider, for receiving and responding to messages you send to our contact address; and
• professional advisers, authorities, or another operator when required by law, needed to protect rights and safety, or involved in a legitimate business transfer.

OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default. Its abuse-monitoring logs may include submitted text and are normally retained for up to 30 days, unless longer retention is legally required or different approved controls apply. Quotes sends the search words you submit; it does not add your contact details to that request. See OpenAI’s API data controls.

When AI Gateway is enabled, Vercel handles the request before forwarding it to the selected model provider, whose own data practices also apply. When external semantic search is disabled, the service ranks quotes using catalogue tags and text without sending the search to an external model provider. If a provider request fails or times out, the service can return results using catalogue tags and text; the attempted request may already have reached that provider. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or allow third-party advertising trackers on the site.

• Theme preferences remain in your browser until you change or clear them.
• Free-text searches are processed for the request and are not intentionally stored in the Quotes database; infrastructure, gateway, and model-provider retention may still apply as described above.
• Submissions are kept while pending review and afterward only as needed to document editorial decisions, prevent repeated abuse, and resolve disputes.
• Rights requests are kept while open and afterward as needed to document the response and meet legal limitation, recordkeeping, and compliance needs.
• Email correspondence is retained as needed to answer your request and keep a record of the resolution.
• Security and service logs are kept according to provider settings and only as long as reasonably needed for security and operations.

Contact us to request deletion of information you provided. We may retain records needed for a legal obligation or unresolved dispute, and backup copies may persist until their normal expiration. The app does not currently apply a fixed automatic deletion period to submissions or rights requests.

Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information, or object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the basis, without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact info@justfresh.co or write to the mailing address above and describe the request; we may need to verify your identity. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. If a request is denied, you can ask us to reconsider by replying to the response or contacting the same address.

You may complain to your local data protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. Because the site does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, a Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track” signal does not change current behavior; there is no sale, sharing, or cross-site tracking to turn off.

Providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are handled through provider contractual safeguards or other lawful mechanisms. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security.

The site is a general-audience reference service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact info@justfresh.co so it can be reviewed and deleted.

Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes will be highlighted where appropriate. Previous practices are governed by the policy in effect at that time.
